"It's Prairie music...vividly poetic images in a raw, intense form that owes as much to punk rock as to Woody Guthrie. Dark compelling work & Bare bones majestic magic."
- Victoria Times Colonist
"Can't get rootsier than this...prairie-roots music stomp and honky-tonk balladry."
- The Calgary Herald
"The framework of a concept is established through Coffey's terse, emotive rasp with plenty of space left for his band, The Lokels, to create an ebbing, flowing Neil Young-styled western soundscape that is wordless yet still fraught with meaning."
- The Edmonton Journal

This LoFi recording was written and performed in my art studio during the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown. During that time and outside of my steady practice of oil painting, I delved back into music but this time writing, performing and producing everything myself.
From the swirling light drifting through my home under the Canadian prairie sky and beyond, I have interpreted new songs in paint and interpreted new paintings in song resulting in the dancing narrative of music, poetry and pictures I call 'Paint Songs'.
